This is sculpted in water based clay then kiln fired before painting with acrylics. I made a mould of the original sculpt and have cast up a few resin copies. It's about 14" high and about 12" wide accross the shoulders
Thanks a lot, I have worked a lot with water based clay over many years and have always managed to get good results.....as long as it's a good quality smooth textured clay I think you should be able to produce good work with just as much detail as with the oil based clays.
yea, i always had problems with water based cause of the cracking and drying lol, I've just recently been getting into sculpture and really want to try Super Sculpey, seems like a nice medium between water based (being able to harden it) and oil based (not air drying)The oil based stuff just doesnt seem to be working for me the way i want it too lol
